NCPD in collaboration with Hope and homes for children organized the workshop to encourage the society to take care of children with disabilities in family
The main objective of the workshop was to advocate for supporting children with Disabilities in families rather than in Centres. The workshop took place in 8 districts (Muhanga, Kamonyi, Ruhango, Nyanza, Karongi, Rutsiro,Rusizi and Nyamasheke). It was organised by the National Council of Persons with Disabilities in collaboration with Hope and Homes for Children. . In this workshop the participants were (District Coordinators, Vice coordinators and directors in charge of social Affairs). The purpose of the workshop is to increase awareness on prevention of various forms of maltreatment, to share needs of children with disabilities and their families, to discuss challenges and take together joint actions and strategies to prevent family separation. This workshop will bring together in total 150 PWDs NCPD structures and 30 Directors of social affairs.
